Update 12/5: They deleted the video ๐.
Boyne Mountain went to the window, and to the wall in one of their latest Instagram videos. To hype up their progress for opening weekend, they shared a video post on Instagram last Wednesday of one of their PistenBully snow groomers putting in work. The song choice was a bit away from the status quo, with Boyne Mountain using a DJ Hampster Dance mashup of Stayin’ Alive by The Bee Gees and Get Low by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz (featuring the Yin Yang Twins). WHAT? OK!
If you’ve heard Get Low before, you can probably guess what provocative lyrics are used in the video below.
In case you didn’t hear them, here’s what the lyrics were:
โGet low (get low), get low (get low)
(Come on!)
To the window (give dem di dance now)
To the wall (to the wall) (buss di dance now)
‘Til the sweat drop down my balls (my balls!)
All these bitches crawl (crawl)
Y’all skeet skeet motherfuckers (motherfuckers)
Y’all skeet skeet God damn (God Damn!)โ
Not everyone was on board with this post though. Here’s what one commenter on Instagram said:
โPlease take this down as it does not appropriately represent what Boyne Mountain stands for.โ
What do you mean? Boyne Mountain doesn’t stand for skeet skeet God Damn (God Damn!)?
I thought the video was hilarious. They made a simple video of a snow groomer pushing snow around into something buzzworthy. Posts like this are what make people comment and share in our current era, whether you like it or not. Even if you weren’t a fan of the music choice, it will make you think about this Michigan ski resort.
Should every ski resort sample music like this? Probably not, but Boyne Mountain knows its demographics and made a video that has got people talking. Overall, this is brilliant work by the marketing team at Boyne Mountain Resort.
Boyne Mountain opened for the first time this ski season last weekend. They’re closed until Friday, which is when they’ll resume operations.
