It turns out that making a trip to a ski resort from Tokyo is extremely easy. This is thanks to bullet trains, the innovative public transit system that Americans haven’t quite figured out yet.

YouTuber Travelgeek captured his trip on the Shinkansen bullet train to one of the closest ski resorts to Tokyo. The trip starts at Tokyo Station and stops at numerous ski resorts, including GALA Yuzawa, which is where Travelgeek skied in the video. The ski resort is interconnected with the Yuzawa Kogen and Ishiuchi Maruyama.

The train features storage spaces for ski bags, bidet toilets, and comfortable seats. The nearly 125-mile journey only takes eighty minutes. EIGHTY MINUTES! Imagine if we had something like this at ski resorts in the U.S. The YouTuber only paid $67.90 for the whole trip, which included round-trip train tickets and a ski pass. Once you exit the train, you are literally at the ski resort’s base area.

The video features what it’s like traveling there, the skiing experience, and then the trip back home. If you’re thinking about doing a ski trip to Japan, the video down below is worth the watch.
