Boyne Resorts’ bubble lift revolution continued this week, as Sunday River, Maine opened the new Jordan 8 bubble chairlift on Monday.
The Doppelmayr D-Line chairlift can carry 3200 riders per hour, and has a ride time of 4.54 minutes, making it the fastest eight-person chairlift in North America.
Some features of the new chairlift include red bubble covers, extra-wide heated seats, and individual head & footrests. The lift gives access to easy, intermediate, advanced, and expert trails and glades.
In my opinion, the most interesting part of the new lift is how the top terminal basically has a building around it in order to protect it from the wind. Its predecessor, the Jordan Express, had major wind issues that led to frequent downtime.
