Thick fog can be spooky, creating a sort of mystery and unknown around you and your town, and freezing rain can be dangerous, making roads nearly impossible to drive on and knocking out power. Freezing fog, though, is definitely in the top tier of terrifying winter weather.

I think the name describes itself pretty well, but it’s essentially tiny supercooled water droplets inside an existing fog. It definitely prevents cars from driving and planes from flying, which could definitely turn into an issue in remote Alaskan villages reliant on aircraft to deliver, well, everything. Is it pretty? Yes. Does it look like it’s harboring ancient ice beasts patiently waiting to attack the town? Kinda…
