Teams from Letiner-Poma have been working over the last couple of months to replace Arapahoe Basin Ski Area’s old triple Lenawee Lift with a brand-new detachable six-pack.

The new lift will dramatically increase A-Basin’s uphill capacity, and will mean that skiers can take only detachable lifts from base to summit.

Louie, from Arapahoe Basin’s Mountain Operations team, has shared an encouraging update about the new Lenawee Lift’s construction.

Check it out below:

I didn’t mind that the old Lenawee lift was a fixed-grip triple, but having high-speed six-pack summit will be a nice touch moving forward.

I’m not usually a huge fan of detachable lifts, but I can appreciate that ski areas/resorts have to upgrade to keep with the times.

I don’t over-crowding from the new lift will be an issue. Skiers can practically ski 360-degrees off the summit to the front-side terrain, down Montezuma Bowl, or over to The Beavers when the mountain is fully open.
