If you’re looking for a ride from Denver to the mountains this winter, look no more. Colorado Department of Transportation’s Snowstang, which began its life back in 2019, returns for the 2022/23 ski season this Saturday, December 17, according to the Denver Post.
Last winter, the Snowstang offered rides to Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Steamboat Springs, and Copper Mountain after ย taking the 2020/21 season off for Covid-19. This winter, the bus service returns with an added stop in Golden and Breckenridge.ย The Snowstang will operate until May 17, offering rides from Union Station in Denver, Federal Center Station in Lakewood, and the Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride in Golden on weekends, President’s Day, and Martin Luther King Day.
The Snowstangs to each mountain depart at different times, but they tend to leave Union Station around 6-6:30am (Steamboat Springs’ Snowstang departs at 5:35am) and head back to the city around 4-4:30pm. You can find the exact schedule for your trip here.
All tickets must be purchased online ahead of time. Round trip fares for all mountains excluding Steamboat Springs are $25 for adults and $12.50 for accompanying children under 12-years-old. Roundtrip to Steamboat Springs costs $40 for adults and the same for children. You can purchase your tickets here.
