A large semi-truck carrying 93 cattle rolled over on Colorado’s Highway 13, leading to a several hour road closure late last week.
The driver was uninjured in the accident. 12 cattle died in the crash and nine were euthanized on scene. Hwy 13 was initially fully closed around 2:46pm on Friday, October 27. The road was partially reopened a few hours later to alternating traffic and eventually fully reopened around 7:25pm.
Colorado’s Highway 13 enters the state just south of Baggs, Wyoming, passing through Craig, Colorado, and eventually connecting with I-70 via US-6 in Rifle. The accident reportedly occurred south of Craig, a town less than an hour from Steamboat.
